Spring Break HELPER @ ICI- Pollinators

Service Description

Come help Ms. Ona for Spring Break Pottery Camp now located at IC Imagine Public Charter School! During the week, we will handbuild pottery in the morning, make crafts, play games and explore the trails at IC Imagine. Location: IC Imagine Public Charter School, 110 Champion Way, Asheville, NC 28806 Days and Times: March 30 - April 3, Monday-Friday 10am-4pm (additional hours- 9am-10am and 4-5pm are available for $10/hour) Ages: 5-16 (ages 11 and up can apply to be a helper if desired. See Helper Application on Summer Camp page for more info) Daily Schedule: 9:45 am- Helpers arrive 10 am- Campers arrive, helpers help them complete AOK's (Acts of Kindness- for people or the earth) 10:30- 11:30am- Snack, Hand building pottery demonstration, class 11:30-12pm- Free play on playground 12:00-1:00 Lunch on the picnic tables followed by siesta (chill time with quiet activity like reading, word puzzles, etc) 1:00-2:30- afternoon art activities like free clay play, glazing projects from the morning, painting, sculpture, felting/textile art. Helpers help campers glaze, lead projects. 2:30- snack and hydration “Cheers" time 3:00-3:45- Playground or afternoon movement time. We might go for a short hike or set up a scavenger hunt along the trails at ICI. Helpers will have some time to hang together. 3:45- Closing Gratitude Circle 4:00- Prompt pick-up, likely at the gravel lot by the Blue House. If this is different we will let you know. Packing List: morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack if needed (many just finish their lunch), a full water bottle, light jacket, layers for unpreditcable spring weather, sun hat, and item for siesta (rest/calm time after lunch). Siesta items might include: a book, handwork like yarn for finger knitting, a coloring book/word search, puzzles. ICI is a nut-free campus; seeds and seed butters are ok. Please leave at home: electronics, knives, candy, toys with batteries/screens/phones or smart watches.
