Springtime Garden Freedom Fridays Homeschool Class:

Spring Freedom Fridays is a full-day, pottery and cooking based homeschool enrichment program at Firefly Valley Pottery Studio in West Asheville, NC.  This Spring will focus on a ceramic handbuilding project in the morning that corresponds with a cooking or gardening project in the afternoon. For example, we will make ceramic sushi platters in the morning and then make veggie sushi in the afternoon. Vegetarian and gluten free options will always be available.  Participants will also have, as always, individual  wheel throwing lessons in the afternoon with an instructor. This will be almost entirely outdoors, with an indoor studio space available in colder/wet weather or lightening/high winds. We also have a 500 square foot outdoor art pavilion that is covered for rain and sun.  We have a 22 lb hypoallergenic therapy dog that is part of our program named Oscar as well. 

Instructors: Ona Armstrong, Kendrick Burton, a chef at the Southside Kitchen and an additional Firefly Valley pottery throwing instructor Madalyn.

Ages: Artists ages 5-16, capped at 20 children

Dates/Times: 8 week series on Fridays- April 5-May 24th

Price: $90/day - $650 /season per artist
