Freedom Fridays Winter Hearth Homeschool Enrichment Series

                                                               Winter Hearth Freedom Fridays with Ms. Ona and Mr. Kendrick

Winter Hearth Freedom Fridays is a full-day, pottery and cooking based homeschool enrichment program at Firefly Valley Pottery Studio in West Asheville, NC.  Winter Hearth Freedom Fridays this year will focus on a ceramic handbuilding project in the morning that corresponds with a cooking project in the afternoon. For example, we will make ceramic sushi platters in the morning and then make veggie sushi in the afternoon. Vegetarian and gluten free options will always be available. Safe, supervised live fire cooking will also be experienced at least twice during this seven week series. Participants will also have, as always, individual  wheel throwing lessons in the afternoon with an instructor. This will be held in our new indoor studio (with a real bathroom, not just a PortaPotty! Yay!) and also when the weather is milder, plenty of outdoor play time. Other items for the kitchen will be made in the afternoon,  like aprons, chefs' hats, cloth napkins and linen printed kitchen towels. This series will include a Firefly Valley Kid's Cookbook and a community dinner at the end, cooked by the potter/chefs, on our dishes we made!

Ages: Artists ages 5-16, capped at 20 children

Dates/Times: 7 week series on Fridays- February 16- March 29th 10am-4pm

Price: $85/day - $600 /season per artist
